As a 25-year resident of Halton Hills, Paquete has watched the town experience rapid changes, and he believes it is time for local council to take practical, decisive action to ensure sustainable growth, modern community safety, and economic security for every generation.

Tackling Housing Affordability with Innovative Co-op ownership Models

With rising costs hitting kitchen-table conversations across Halton Hills, Paquete is introducing actionable housing alternatives directly to the table. Rather than relying entirely on conventional housing methods, his platform proposes distinct financial paths toward self-ownership and equity building.

First, Paquete advocates for easing local property taxes geared toward supporting sustainable home-ownership. Second, he proposes an affordable co-op housing plan specifically targeting seniors and young families. This model allows seniors looking to transition into community spaces to capitalize on their home’s equity, unlocking vital liquidity for their golden years. Concurrently, it offers local young families starting out a first-time homebuyer's co-op initiative to establish stable roots within a challenging market.

Prioritizing Community Safety and Road Security

A safer community requires direct advocacy and smart partnerships. Paquete’s safety platform focuses strongly on obtaining the community's fair share of regional resources. He intends to address council to expand the local Halton police station’s walk-in operating hours past 4:00 PM, giving residents accessible support exactly when they need it.

Furthermore, Paquete addresses road safety by proposing a collaborative "Good Neighbour Policy" for local trucking companies. This initiative aims to work directly with operators to effectively control heavy vehicle speeds in residential zones, protecting local children, cyclists, and runners.
